Spring has sprung
So the winner of our Easter prize draw was a chap called Rob who came to pick up his prize on Easter Saturday. Congratulations Rob and many thanks to everyone else for taking part your feedback is invaluable to us. Many of you asked when is the pub reopening. The plan is still to open in the autumn and we will post a date once the build is complete.
Our new friends Aga & Tom have arrived from Poland. They’ve come to experience life in rural Norfolk, to learn English whilst helping us renovate the pub. They seem to be settling in very well, finding country life wonderfully friendly and loving it that people stop and say hello to them, so do please welcome them if you happen to see them.
On another note, there is a brick on the front of the pub that we were curious as to why someone had engraved his name on it. The mystery was solved when we met Derek Gricks and his lovely wife, Sue. As many of you may know Derek is the son of Ada Gricks who used to run The Bell, he was born in at the pub and hadn’t been back for years, so it was a real pleasure to meet him. And Derek just so you know, we aim to preserve your brick for posterity.
Now that the clocks have changed and spring has very definitely sprung, the garden is accessible again which we’re very excited about. The land is drying out and the digger has arrived, so we have been busy getting more trees in, clearing ditches and ordering extra hedging. Our plans for the pub are coming along nicely and we are hoping to commence our build very soon.
Role on summer…
